15" Dressable Madelineby Lisa Nothnagel
Madeline, straight from your TV, and into your home!
My daughter, aged 5, loves Madeline the television show. When she received this doll she was ecstatic! She jumped up and down yelling, "It's Madeline, it's Madeline!"
She happened to see the little pamphlet that came with the doll, (before I could get to it) showing all of Madeline's collectable friends: Danielle, Nicole, Pepito and Genevieve (the dog). There are also over 16 different Madeline outfits, and plenty more accessories that you can get to complete your set. "Can I get that one mom? Oh, look at the picnic you can get!"
Just seeing the picnic inspired her to go to her room, get out her tea party set and have a tea party with Madeline before Madeline was even totally ready for play (an adult has to cut a few tags so the clothes become removable).
While the tea party was happily underway my son, aged 2, decided he wanted a piece of the action and a Madeline tug-of-war began. I think the winner was Madeline, because even after the war came to an end she looked good as new. She is very well made and her overcoat is unbelievably soft. The doll and her clothes are big enough so my daughter had no trouble putting most of them on or taking them off. Madeline's socks and hat however, were a little trickier and those I would help her with every time.
When my daughter was getting Madeline changed she noticed that Madeline has stitches and she asked me what for. They are obviously surgery stitches, so I told her that Madeline must have had an operation. Of course, that led to the next logical question, "What kind of operation?" I'm glad she's so inquisitive but I had no idea what to tell her, as I'm not very familiar with the show myself. I guess we'll have to tune in to find out!
This would be a great gift for a child that is going for an operation or has recently had one. And this Madeline is very comforting because she's so soft and cuddly.
