In this game, each player chooses a ZINGO! card. One player is the dealer for the round and gets to slide the ZINGER forward and back to display two tiles. Is either picture on your card? If so, be the first to shout it out and win the tile. The first person to fill their card, shouts "ZINGO!" and wins the game.

Your child doesn't need to know how to read to play this game. Both the word and picture appear on each tile. Though after playing the game several times, it won't be long before your child will be able to read the words on each of the tiles.

My daughter loved being the one to shout out the picture on the tile first! She also enjoyed her turn as dealer.

The ZINGO! zinger is simple enough that children as young as four can maneuver it without any difficulty. I liked the game because of the educational skills it reinforces. Image-word recognition, matching, verbalization, concentration, and memory; fine-motor skills and following instructions are also a part of this excellent game!

Tips

This game has small pieces. It's designed for children ages 4 and up. It's probably a good idea to keep younger siblings or friends at a distance when playing this game. My daughter and I played after my younger children went to bed.

Pros

Image/word recognition, matching, verbalization, concentration and memory, fine motor skills and following directions are all skills reinforced through playing this game. It's also a great opportunity to practice being a gracious winner and loser.
