Alice In Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Windows Only CD ROM
by Lynn MillerMy grandchildren were quite pleased to learn they had a better "ear" for music than I. They were also quick to learn how to play the games that would develop their musical senses by utilizing both sight and sound.
Many of the games can be time consuming, while most of the others move far more quickly. For the untrained musical ear, 'unscrambling musicians' so they play the correct composition, may take a few tries at each level. However, the matching games can be played in a relatively short time. TIP: It may be best to help Alice get out of the 'music clock' in several sessions, rather than trying to complete the game all at once.
When you click on the "help" button to the left of the Cheshire Cat there will be a map to the clock. This lets players see how many points they have earned in each of the twelve games. To unlock Alice from the clock a player must earn 300 points for each of the twelve games. By clicking on the icon of Vivaldi you may listen to the Cheshire Cat read his biography. These are just a few of the games' many endearing features.
The combination of Vivaldi's compositions and the colorful graphics combine to make this a wonderful learning experience for children and adults alike

Pros
The Musical Encyclopedia is very impressive, although it is more suited to older children.
The Cheshire Cat's use of rhyme to give instructions for playing each game is an added bonus.
