WJHC: On the Air
Not since back in my own 9 - 12 year-old years have I read a comic that was so incredibly fun, clean-cut and appropriate.
The book itself is a beautifully published, 96-page collection of stories, quick-bits, character introductions, and playful teases and taunts. It leaves readers with a profound sense of satisfaction with the quality read they've found, and with an attractive wanting for more once the last page of the book is reached. And, in true comic-book fashion, satisfaction will only come in subsequent issues.
To tide you over in the meantime however, WJHC has a complementary website for that extra WJHC-fix that fans might need between issues... (And rest assured, they will.)
The book has a recommended age range of 9 - 12, but I would suggest that it is perfectly appropriate for the advanced younger reader, and its content has enough layers to have legs that can stretch beyond the 12-year mark. Also, for those iffy or less confident readers, the comic book format can serve as a confident first step towards a healthy habit of lifelong reading.
Guaranteed fun!
