Can You See What I See: Cool Collections

by Carolyn R. Drebin

This is a book of photographic puzzles. Each page consists of an unbelievably detailed photograph -from a drawer full of buttons, to a beach scene, to a junk drawer. On the side of each page begs the question: "Can you see what I see?," followed by a list of objects.

At first these puzzles seem simple -- there's so much on the page, how can you not find everything on the list, right? WRONG! The detail is so incredible that it is nearly impossible to find the items on the list. And if two 30-something parents found it difficult to find things, imagine a child!? I can only put it down to patience. If you have the patience, no doubt you will find everything on the page. But personally, I think a far better game would be the far simpler (and easier) "I Spy". Parents and children can take turns "spying" items in the pictures. The photographs themselves are extraordinary, and you could spend hours looking at them. This is a big, glossy book that's both fun and challenging, though maybe a little too challenging at times!
