Cats Do the Cutest Things
For any cat lover, this book is adorable and will probably be a favorite. For anyone whose favorite four-legged creatures don't include cats, the book may be a bit much. With such cat-lovin' quotes as "There's no need for a piece of sculpture in a home that has a cat" and "The ideal of calm exists in a sitting cat," the book begs for readers who are into felines -- way, way into felines. Some of the quotes and poems have actually nothing to do with cats, but are used in such a way as to suggest they were uttered solely for felines.
That's not to say the book isn't cute; particularly when it comes to the photos and images of cats, "Cats Do The Cutest Things" is downright adorable. Some of the photographs depict cats in amazing action shots, like jumping and hunting -- very nice images for any animal-lover to see.
As for selecting this book as reading material for children, there are pros and cons to doing so --while the cute images of animals will surely cause kids to giggle and smile, some of the language is a bit too mature for smaller kids, who may not understand and fully appreciate it. Tread carefully, but by all means introduce this book if your family has cats or is planning to own a cat -- this volume will be a great addition to the feline family.
