Cookie Count & Bake: A Cookbook and Cutter Set

by Lisa Woodworth

What little girl or boy doesn't love playing mommy or daddy and experimenting in the kitchen? I know that my daughter does. She was so excited to start baking that upon receiving the book and play-set, she temporarily forgot that she'd been miserably sick with the flu. How could I say no to her when the idea of baking stamped a brilliant smile on her feverish little face?

The set came with 20 different cookie cutters, 4 basic measuring spoons, a cookie sheet, a recipe book and some craft and game ideas. The cookie cutters are geometrical and numerical shapes making this a great learning tool, as well.

The first recipe that my daughter and I tried was the "cocoa cookie quilts". They looked tasty, fun to make, and we had all of the ingredients on hand. Were they ever tasty!

We couldn't wait to try another recipe!

While this is an excellent sugar cookie recipe, I was disappointed to learn that all of the recipes in this book are basically the same sugar cookie type. A little more variation in the recipe book would have had this mother sold.

This was a great idea that, in my opinion, just missed its mark.
