Crafting on the Go: Felt (Crafting on the Go!)

by Stephanie Ruble

There are twenty-one felt projects in this book, ranging from party hats to pillows.

There are a lot of creative ideas in this book, and you might get a few more of your own by just looking at the pictures.

The book starts out with a brief history of felt and answers to commonly asked questions, such as: "What is felt? and How do I cut felt?" Then it moves on to projects like heart gift tags, baby blocks, and placemats. The pictures show you what the final project will look like, and sometimes include close-ups or different angles.

The projects look easier than the instructions make them out to be. Although a creative person with limited sewing ability and knowledge could probably figure out from the pictures how to make something similar, this is not a book for beginners.

There is no glossary for the sewing terms used, or instructions on how to create the different types of stitching. (Terms listed in instructions include: topstitch, overhand knot, whipstitch, double-wrapped French knot, blanket-stitch, running stitch, slipstitch, basting stitch, couching stitch, and fly stitch.)

There are patterns for almost every project. Some are actual size, and some need to be enlarged before use. At the end of the book there are supply companies listed.
