Give My Regrets to Broadway : A Chet Gecko Mystery

by Colleen Quick

Chet Gecko lands the lead role as Omlet, Prince of Denver in the school musical. But what has happened to the original lead actor? This is a case for Chet Gecko, Private eye. Can Chet solve the mystery or will he have to fill the shoes of the missing thespian?

There's something strange going on in the cafeteria at Emerson Hickey elementary. Scott Freeh was to play the lead role in the school play. He was, that is, until he mysteriously disappeared.

Fourth grader and private eye, Chet Gecko is the lucky student chosen to take Scott's place and play the part of Omlet, Prince of Denver. When Chet is informed of the romantic scene in the third act he vows to save himself from a lifetime of embarrasment and find Scott Freeh.

Strange things begin to happen at every rehersal. The young detective realizes there may be more to this case than meets the eye. Is the cafeteria really haunted by an unseen phantom bent on ruining the performance, or could someone else be behind the acts of sabotage?

Join Chet and his friend Natalie in this exciting adventurous mystery. This is a hilarious book full of witty sarcasim and zany dialogue. I laughed out loud along with my children as we read. I especially enjoyed the suspenseful way the author, Bruce Hale, keeps you guessing until the very end. This book is definately a must have for any Chet Gecko Mystery fan. I haven't read any of the other books in the series but after the side splitting good time I had with this one, I will look into other Chet Gecko books.
