Goodnight Goodnight Sleepyhead

by Hannah Slan Graff

Goodnight Goodnight Sleepyhead is a lovely story intended to be read to children just prior to bed. It is beautifully illustrated by Jane Dyer and is intended for children aged 3-6.

Goodnight Goodnight Sleepyhead, by Ruth Krauss, takes your child on a reminiscent journey through her day, before she settles down to sleep. As the original title of the book suggests, the little one in the story bids farewell to eyes, nose, fingers, and toes, as well as lips, hair, windows, doors, walls, floors, chairs, bed, and finally of course, to sleepyhead. This story is a wonderful way to introduce new words, and to reinforce them by repeating the words before each restful night. Each page is more beautifully illustrated than the next, with gorgeous watercolor paintings jumping off the pages. This book shows a child how to bid an affectionate good night to her surroundings and to her day.
