Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs
A little boy and his plastic dinosaurs spend many an adventure together. How fun-o-saurus is that!
Little Harry finds a dusty old box of dinosaurs in his grandma's attic. He cleans them, mends them, and puts them in their new home, a bright blue bucket.
Ian Whybrow does a wonderful job bringing the reader along during what seems to be a very happy and exciting time for Harry. Adrian Reynolds does an equally wonderful job bringing the dinosaurs to life, at least in Harry's eyes.
This is a great book for kids of all ages, especially dinosaur enthusiasts. I'm sure that most adults will pick up on the fact that Harry uses the dinosaurs both as a surrogate father figure and friend — still that's the stuff that great post-book-read-talks are made of.
All that being said, the book is a lovely tale of a boy, his imagination, and his journey through childhood.
