Hollow of My Heart

by Emily-Jane Orford

Nikki grew up in a northern logging camp. She knows how to survive in the wilds of the north and she loves nature. Fearing the total destruction of the forests she loves best, she gets a university degree and returns to gather evidence to present to a government committee.

Nikki's adventure begins upon her return from her university studies in the city. She goes against her father's advice to find the evidence she needs to support her claim that the intense logging is destroying the natural habitat. She gets caught in a cave-in and a native tracker, Kyle, is sent to rescue her. Another cave-in imprisons the two; they learn from each other and their relationship grows from an initial clash of wills to a spark of passion and respect as they struggle to survive.

This is a truly beautiful teen romance.
