Klutz's 93-page book by author, Anne Akers Johnson, makes it easy for beginning knitters to start with the basics.
Included in the attached kit are: 210 yards of worsted yarn, yarn needle, knitting needles, crochet hook and two buttons. The beginner needs only to supply scissors and a needle and thread.
Starting with pictures, which demonstrate how to wind the yarn, the beginner is then instructed to tie a slip knot. Easy-to-see drawings show how to hold the needles in one's hands.
