Luther's Halloween
"Luther's Halloween" is a cute story about a boy and his pet dinosaur, Luther. Both the boy and Luther are getting ready for the one big night all young children love - Halloween! With their costumes on and their treat bags ready, the two set off for a perfect night of trick-or-treating. All goes well, until one boy, dressed up as Dracula, starts stealing other children's candy. That's when Luther steps up and scares Dracula into giving back the candy to the rightful owners. All ends well with the children happy again and Luther hugging and licking Dracula (who wasn't too happy that he didn't get everyone else's candy)!
My children really enjoyed this book. They loved the vibrant illustrations that accompany the story, as well as the story itself. They liked the way Luther scared big bully Dracula into giving back all the candy he stole. Luther was a hero! The text was also simple to comprehend and easy enough for my seven year old to read on his own.
I think this is a very fun and cute Halloween story to read to children. It is a delightful tale that is not-too-spooky for younger children. It was a hit in my home and my classroom and I'm sure it will be a hit in your home too.
