Mayfly
by Lisa Woodworth
Marthe Jocelyn is the author and illustrator of this charming book, that has us wanting to escape the big, busy city for a more traditional and peaceful summer at the cabin.
Many who read this will identify with the summer memories in this book. If not, it's a great opener for a post-read discussion of the personal memories that we each treasure.
Created using fabrics and other materials, the collage-style artwork is very appealing and interesting to look at. My daughter, aged 3, enjoys identifying the many items in the book and often turns the story into a game of eye-spy.
