Munschworks: The First Munsch Collection
Munschworks: The First Munsch Collection contains no less than FIVE beautiful children's tales that delight the imagination and amuse the eye!
The beautiful hardcover collection contains enchanting stories including The Paper Bag Princess, The Fire Station, I Have to Go!, David's Father, and Thomas' Snowsuit. All of the stories are illustratated delightfully by Michael Martchenko, who has masterfully illustrated most of Munsch's stories in a simple, yet revealing and memorable way.
In the first story, Elizabeth, a beautiful Princess, is set to marry a Prince named Ronald. When a dragon abducts Ronald and burns all of Elizabeth's belongings with his firey breath leaving only a paper bag for her to wear, Elizabeth sets out to get her Prince back. With her charm and quick wit, the bright young Paper Bag Princess manages to tucker the dragon out so that she can rescue her Ronald who has been kept in a cave since his abduction. Sadly, instead of showing gratitude to his rescuer and alleged beloved, Ronald is cross at Elizabeth's appearance and paper bag dress and instructs her to return only when she looks like a real Princess. Appalled and clever as always, Elizabath leaves Ronald, calls him a bum, and dances off into the sunset...solo.
This inspiring and clever tale teaches a charming lesson and the four subsequent stories do no less. This book is a must-have in any child's personal library and I urge parents to include these stories in their children's upbringing.
