My Little Brother
The story is about a little boy who is annoyed with having a younger brother.
This new littler brother gets in the way, and gets away with everything! He doesn't clean up his toys and always gets to keep the adults company during dinner. He even makes a mess of his older brother's room and at times breaks his toys. Rare would it be to come across an older brother or sister, who would not understand the frustration of the older brother in this story.
I loved this story! As would anyone who has a younger sibling (whether it's a brother or a sister) whose relationships have evolved and improved over the years. To this end, I particularly enjoyed the end of the book that showed the brothers embracing and enjoying each other's company.
It's a great book for children as there are only a few words per page.
The illustrations use soft, pleasing colors, and the story includes a great lesson to be learned.
I read this story to a class of preschoolers. They all listened very attentively. At the end they all shared what they love to do with their siblings. There were many discussions on sibling rivalry and how their many problems can be worked out together with just a little effort.
