Pea Pod Babies
My daughter and I enjoyed this book. Because of its rhyming singsong text, my 3-year-old daughter enjoyed that she was able to "help" read it along with me. She enjoys the story, but the pride that she gets in helping me read, is confidence-building.
The story is set in a magical garden, where live the pea pod babies. Their loving mother and adoring neighbors dote upon the babies. From too much attention, to too many gifts (namely hats that the babies just don't like), the pea pod babies decide that it's time to break free from the confines of the pod and establish their own independence.
All three go on their own separate adventures. When they finally come home to the garden, they return without the horrible, scratchy, "matchy" hats; but instead bring with them a "hatful" of unique experiences to share.
Very nice.
