Pinky Dinky Doo: Polka Dot Pox

by Sabrina Zuccaro

This zany story is about a girl named Pinky who loves to tell stories to her younger brother, Tyler. And, Tyler loves to hear them!

The story begins with Pinky and Tyler getting ready for bedtime, when Tyler asks his older sister to tell him a bedtime story. The real adventure then begins with Pinky taking her brother, and readers on a fun-filled ride into and through her imagination.

She makes up a wild story about a girl named Pinky. The poor Pinky of Pinky's story wakes up one morning with some kind of strange polka dot pox. The horrible thing is that this is the day Pinky has been waiting for, for quite some time now. This is the day Pinky has her pet show-and-tell. What a tragedy for Pinky when she finds out she can't go to school!

She tries to think of some extremely strange and wacky ways to still do her show-and-tell. In the end, her class ends up at her house and she shows them her pet guinea pig. Her classmates thought her guinea pig was cool because he was able to pop popcorn for them.

My son really enjoyed this story because of its wackiness. He laughed when he read about Pinky's crazy plans to flush herself down the toilet, or to disguise herself into funny outfits. He read the book twice! He also liked the illustrations in the book, which are a combination of drawn and real life pictures.

I truly recommend this book to any child who loves wacky and adventurous stories. This book will have your child laughing in no time.
