Playing With Stuff: Outrageous Games With Ordinary Objects

by Lori Plach

Being a youth group leader, I often need to call on some creative ways to keep kids interested. I dread the words "I'm bored", and this book has done wonders to ensure that I no longer hear them (the words that is, not the children)!

Have those oodles of board games become too boring for the kids in your life? How about making some creative games that utilize some of the many tidbits that you probably have sitting around your house. One person's trash is another's treasure after all, and in this book you get to make those treasures yourself. Things like duct tape, erasers, film canisters, pan lids, toilet paper rolls, old calendars, empty plastic soda bottles and junk mail flyers are just a few of the ordinary objects, that can quickly and easily be made into extraordinary games!

Published by Kane Miller, this book has it all. Whether you are working with just a few kids or a whole crowd, there is bound to be something for everyone. There are no age limits on most of these outrageous games, and there are games that can be played indoors, outdoors or even while standing in a line at an amusement park!

Last but certainly not least, this book is easy on the budget as it utilizes mostly items which are already lying around the house (or occasionally in the trash can).

This can be a great tool to use to help learn/teach about recycling!
