Purple, Green and Yellow

by Kelli Brucken

Brigid wants coloring markers so badly. She promises mother she won't draw on anything but paper! Can Brigid keep her promise?

This is a delightful story of a girl named Brigid who simply must have some coloring markers.

Brigid's mother says no, because she thinks kids draw on walls, floors and themselves with coloring markers. But Brigid tells her mother of some washable markers, so off mother goes to buy washable coloring markers. All goes well with the washables, until Brigid grows bored with them.

So off mother goes to buy smellable markers. Smellable markers are great, but Brigid grows bored with them as well. She needed some super-indelible-never-come-off-till-you're-dead-and-maybe-even-later coloring markers! Brigid hadn't yet colored on anything she wasn't supposed to, so mother gives in and buys more markers. The new markers are great, but soon Brigid tires of coloring on paper! Wouldn't her fingernails look so pretty in different colors? On and on the colors go until Brigid looks like a mixed-up rainbow! The doctor comes to save the day, but wait until you see daddy!

This wonderful tale is written in classic Robert Munsch style. With fantastic use of "kid friendly" language, wonderful description, and a very funny story line. The book is full of lively and colorful illustrations by Helene Desputeaux.
