Riddledy Piggledy

by Ursula Furi-Perry

The premise behind Riddledy Piggledy is simple but novel: Mother Goose scrambles up a nursery rhyme, presents it as a riddle -- then the readers guess which nursery rhyme is in question and are treated to the actual verse. Some of the childhood favorites covered in this volume include "Jack and Jill," "Humpty Dumpty" and "Doctor Foster," among many others. This is a really inventive book, especially considering the plethora of nursery rhyme books available on the market. The concept is new and offers a unique reading opportunity.

I also love the fact that this volume is so interactive. Kids will have a blast laughing at the funny riddles and trying to guess which nursery rhyme is being scrambled. Parents will find the educational nature of the book, as the riddles will be great for improving children's analytical skills and guess-work. I also believe that this book presents great family reading and group reading opportunities, with plenty of chances for giggles and having fun.

The illustrations are wonderful, with light pastel images that please the eye.
