Rules of the Wild

by Dave Anguzza

Isn't it every child's fantasy is to be able to eat and drink like a pig, splash like a dolphin, stay up with the bats and roar as loud as a lion without their parents wagging a disapproving finger? I'm starting to realize that maybe children would be much more content being raised in the jungle!

This is like a feast of indulgence for the kids. Every child needs to be able to "let loose" and discover their animal instincts. That's why I think every parent should send their kids for at least two weeks in the jungle to be raised by wild animals.

I loved the theme of this book. It really hit home with what a large part of being a kid is all about. Sometimes as parents, we forget about how much fun it is to have a few wild rules. This story puts a little bit of the kid back in us. We had a lot of fun as a family reading this. The kids imitated the various animals and picked out their favorite wild rules. It inspired some laughable conversation about some of our rules at home. So far we've read it three times and I'm sure we'll be reading it quite a few more.

Oh, I have to go now, I can hear my lions roaring.
