Safe and Sound

by Rhea V. Ewer

A rhyming story of two small dogs, one named Safe, the other Sound... and a story that ends with where they most want to be.

"Safe and Sound are two small dogs with BIG idea: they want to see the world. But the world is not AT ALL what they expect."

'tis well written, this poem is, A travel tale timely versed. Of two dogs named Safe and Sound, And how their travel dreams were cursed.

Upon their journey out and outward, They came upon things unexpected. Tidbits that despite their research, Passed them by undetected.

Still these tidbits told through rhyme, "Lie" not at all like a rug. For they each would ring loud and true, In the ear of any travel bug.

And so I recommend this read, To any and all of age. And I would also urge you all, To read slowly, and enjoy EVERY SINGLE PAGE!

If you are looking for a book on world-travel, that discusses tolerance, acceptance of differences, and open-mindedness in the face of newfound unknowns, then this is NOT the book for you.

It is however written beautifully, and is a wonderful starting point through which the differences of the world can be discussed with your child. It is also a beautiful story for anyone who has ever experienced any degree of homesickness. The book celebrates the comforts of home.

Lovely poem, lovely illustrations and would make a lovely gift for anyone of any age, who is away from, or about to leave home, in search of...
