Scholastic's Book of World Records

by Bonnie Myerson

Discover amazing facts about nature, sports, and technology.

Do you know your state's record? Well, if you are from Delaware, then you will be proud to know that over 30,000 people gather in Sussex County for the annual World Championship Punkin Chunkin. More than 70 teams compete during the three-day festival to see who can chuck their pumpkin the furthest.

Delaware holds the world record for the largest contest.

Scholastic's Book of World Records also features records from all fifty states. Each page has crisp photo-like pictures, as well as a very comprehensive graph showing the differences between the record holder and runners-up.

There is a 16-page bonus section with unbelievable and wacky facts.

Everyone in my family really enjoyed this book. It went from tables to beds, and I even found it in the bathroom a few times as well. For the younger ones who can't read yet, the bright colorful pictures kept them entertained, while the older ones enjoyed reading each and every detail about events and fascinations around the world.

Pros

Very attractive and enjoyable book.
