Spider-Man 2: Doc Around the Clock
This is a book based on a 24-hour period taken from the movie Spider-Man 2. It starts where Dr. Otto Octavius is doing his electrical experiment demonstration for Os-Corp shareholders. He had four long tentacles attached to his spine hooked to his brain so he had control of their movements and actions. He needed them as he was unable to hold the electrical mass in his bear hands. Something went wrong and the experiment malfunctioned. The electrical blast fused the robotic tentacles to his spine. In doing this they began "speaking" to him hence controlling him and his actions.
Due to the nature of his look (like an octopus) he became called Dr.Ock.
Doctors are unable to remove them from him and as they take on human-like qualities they begin to seek out revenge and escape by killing all the doctors in the hospital.
Losing his touch with reality he suddenly loses his inhibitions and good natured desires to become self-fulfilling, destructive and venegeful. He wreaks havoc across NYC and breaks into a bank in order to get funding to continue his project with the tentacles always leading the way.
The only thing standing in his way is our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
It ends where Spider-Man stops him from robbing the bank.
The book is basically similar to the scenes in the movie with a few slight changes noted. Would recommend reading this to kids who have seen the movie or know about Spider-Man, ages probably 8 and up. Or older kids can read to themselves.
62 pages, took me about 30 minutes to read entire story to my kids. They have seen the movie, they liked it and the pictures.
