Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Best Gardening Book
This is a young gardeners' delight, especially if your young gardener loves Strawberry Shortcake, like so many little girls do!
Not only is this an outdoor gardening book, but it also illustrates how to start an indoor/potted garden as well. If your child loves Strawberry Shortcake, the outdoors, or even just learning and experimenting, this book is a "must have".
Most of the pages have an ongoing story about gardening on the bottom quarter where Strawberry shortcake and her friends all plant a friendship garden together. They plant it where they go for picnics and play games. To enjoy their lovely garden, and to keep with the theme of the book, work needs to be done too -- weeding it, keeping it clean and taking "berry" good care of their plants. The rest of the pages are filled with many other things including: growing a garden, planning and planting, indoor gardens, outdoor gardens, bugs, berry tips, beautiful bulbs and much, much more.
Being a Strawberry Shortcake book, it goes without saying that this is more girl or female oriented. With that said, my daughter, aged 5, loved this book!
Something she looks forward to every year is making a garden with Grandpa; they make the garden together and she helps Grandpa throughout the year with the upkeep. This book reminded her of this special time with Grandpa and it got her excited in advance about gardening and what to plant in the garden this year.
I think this year we'll have the BERRY BEST garden.
