The Big Nap: A Chet Gecko Mystery

by Amy Parsons

Chet Gecko is the self-proclaimed "best lizard detective" at Emerson Hicky Elementary! He and his pal Natalie are hired by a guinea pig named Meena Moe to discover why her sister Eena is acting like a zombie. They soon discover that Eena isn't the only one.

The fourth in author Bruce Hale's series of Chet Gecko Mysteries, "The Big Nap" is as entertaining as its predecessors. Chet is a wise-cracking detective out of Philip Marlowe's mold, calling females "dames" and wearing a hat. He and Natalie, a mockingbird with a love of puns, canvass the school, finding one zombie classmate after another, and eventually solve the mystery.

Chapters have catchy titles like "To Dream the Im-possum-able Dream" and "It's My Party and I'll Pry if I Want To."
