The Truth About Poop
The Truth About Poop is an informative and entertaining book for kids of all ages. It contains everything there is to know about poop, from bugs using poop as warfare, to what people used to use for toilet paper way back when. There are delightful illustrations throughout the book as well.
My 6-year-old son and 8-year-old daughter couldn't stop giggling when they saw this book for the first time. I'll have to admit I thought it was pretty funny as well. We just couldn't believe there was actually a book just about poop! My daughter sat down to read it right away and didn't put it down until she was halfway through it. She only stopped because she just couldn't wait to tell us some of the interesting facts about poop she had learned. When her cousins came over, she immediately began to tell them all about poop. She'd peeked their curiosity so much that they took the book home with them. Then the book went down the road to their friend's house. Finally it made it back to our house so that I could read it as well. I never knew poop could be so darn interesting and entertaining! I'll have to admit that we've talked an awful lot about poop over the past couple of weeks. My daughter thought that dinner time was the funniest time to bring up the subject. But I didn't want to 'bring up' my supper, so I told her "no poop at the table!"
I'm proud (and maybe a little distressed) to say that my kids and I are now poop experts. The book is now at another friend's house, where I'm sure a lot of giggling is going on. This is a delightful book, which I think would be a great addition to the stack of reading material kept -- where else -- in the bathroom!
