The Witches
Another one of Dahl's brilliant works! The book tells the story of how a grandmother puts in her best effort to protect her orphaned grandson. This grandmother however, does not teach him the nitty-gritty basics of how to cross streets, or not to talk to strangers, rather, she instructs him on the VERY REAL dangers of WITCHES!
These are the same witches that had taken some of her childhood friends. These are also the same witches that find pleasure in turning young boys into mice. Lucky for the boy in this story that his grandmother knows how to both spot and keep oneself safe from them.
Can you imagine the horror, hilarity and hoopla that evolve when the boy realizes that there are a slew of witches staying at the same hotel as his both he and his grandmother?
Every page of this book is plastered with Mr. Dahl's creative genius -- the plot, the laughs, and the age appropriate terror that can only be Roald Dahl.
Thank you Mr. Dahl.
