Who Wants a Dragon?
Who wants a dragon? All fiery and bright? A lost baby dragon, Aone in the night?
The witch seems to like himÂ…until she tries to ride her broomstick with him clinging on behind. The bold knight runs away in fear. The princess takes offence at muddy dragon paw prints on her dress while the king and queen cower behind their thrones. Who will cuddle a little dragon?
This simple rhyming story reassures children that no matter what they do, or how they look, their mother will always love them.
The illustrations, done in pastel tones complement this gentle story. All characters are drawn as children. Even the king with his beard looks like a young boy playing dress-up. So even though they are scared of the dragon, they never look scary themselves. The dragon is drawn as pink, cuddly, polka-dotted creature. Kids laugh at the other characters being scared of what is so obviously a non-threatening beastie.
Suitable for ages 1-5. At only 200 words, this story will keep the attention of even the smallest of listeners.
