Colorforms Dress-Up Activity Set
by Lisa NothnagelThe youngest player gets the first spin and that player gets to choose from the four different clothing and accessories to place on your character. To win the game is to be the first player to have your character fully dressed. Some of the combinations are very cute indeed and once mixing and matching begins it can be quiet funny as well.
For the younger children this game teaches great dressing techniques like pants go on your legs and your shoes go on your feet. For the older children it teaches how to mix and match and what combinations look good together and which ones look funny.
I brought out the game one rainy day for the children I babysit to play there was 3 girls aged 3 to 5 and one boy aged 6 all playing. It was a very easy game to explain to them and the game was fast underway, there was lots of laughing and giggling while each one picked what article of clothing they were going to dress there character in.
With the recommended ages being 3 to 8 I wanted to play with my son aged 2 ½ to see how he would do. He loved when it was his turn and he got to spin, I gave him the choice of 2 different shoes or hat and then I would ask him "what part of your body does your shoes go on?" He had a hard time with waiting for his turn he would go ahead and spin while I was placing the article of clothing on my character and wherever it landed he would say "hat now" or "shirt now." All in all he had fun, as did I although I can see now why the recommended age is 3+.
