Glory Road (PG for racial issues, including violence and epithets, and mild language)
This is the true story of Don Haskins (Josh Lucas), a high school basketball coach who, in 1962, took the reins of the Texas Western Miners, an underdog NCAA Division One team. Haskin's insistence on recruiting the best players available to him, regardless of the color of their skin, revolutionized the sport and changed the course of history.
It's a feel-good story of endurance, courage, and standing your ground during tough times. Great basketball action, too!
Mission Impossible 3 (PG-13 for intense sequences of frenetic violence and menace, disturbing images, and some sensuality)
This third entry in the explosive espionage series finds semi-retired spy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) forced back into action to save his protégé, Lindsey Ferris (Keri Russell), who's been abducted by uber-bad arms dealer Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman). The minute you hear that familiar bass-heavy MI music, you know you're in for a wild ride, and this action-packed thriller delivers on all counts.
RV (PG for crude humor, innuendo, and language)
Climbing aboard their mammoth RV for a cross-country road trip to the Colorado Rockies, the Munro family - led by dysfunctional patriarch Bob (Robin Williams) - prepares for the adventure of a lifetime. But spending two weeks together in one seriously small space has a way of cramping their style. Jeff Daniels and Kristin Chenoweth play kooky RVers, and Cheryl Hines is Bob's patient wife. This movie will never win a "most intellectual film" award, but it has plenty of crude humor and wacky stunts that, let's face it, most guys love.
Superman Returns (PG-13 for some intense action violence)
After a few years spent away from Metropolis, Superman (Brandon Routh) returns to find a city that's managed to survive without him, an old flame (Kate Bosworth) who's moved on, and an old enemy (Kevin Spacey) who still wants to see the superhero destroyed. A big, fun blockbuster with just the right mix of thrills, special effects, romance, comedy and drama.
