The LeapPad Learning System is just that; a learning system. Luckily LeapFrog always includes fun in with their learning. The LeapPad comes with one book from their library, which therefore allows you to change the nature of the game from time to time. This item is just fabulous and is to any toy/game collection as Led Zeppelin's IV is to any CD collection (if you don't know understand this reference, ask an adult. If you are an adult and don't understand this reference then you probably enjoy Perry Como). But for all the Perry Como lovers out there... let me just say, this product is a great buy!
The LeapPad has many features, all designed for teaching things like: pre-reading, vocabulary, phonics, story reading, math, geography, science, music, and many others. The "say it" feature allows the child to have the entire page read aloud or to have any word spoken. The "sound it" feature explores letters or groups of letters and their sounds. The "spell it" and "define it" features do just that. Of course, there are loads of games as well. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but with the LeapPad you can't go wrong!
