MASH Board game
by Lisa NothnagelM.A.S.H the board game's packaging is ADORABLE! It is finished in a bright pink, faux fur, that little girls will be sure to love. It folds into itself and shuts securely with a magnet. It is very portable, easily carried and book sized. This makes it easy to take along to a friend's house -- it's a perfect game to play at a sleepover.
Included, are an erasable marker, a dry eraser and many different question cards so you're not always getting the same outcome. For those who are not familiar with the game from their own youth, the game is a little confusing and reading the instructions carefully by an adult is a must. The instructions are not at all kid friendly; even I had to read them a couple of times and still didn't understand the game fully until I played it with my daughter. My neighbor also had the same challenge with the game. She also mentioned, "my daughter, aged 10, couldn't have played this game without my help in reading and explaining how it worked first."
One of the predictions told my daughter she was going to live in a mansion, her favorite hangout was going to be with grandpa, she was going to marry someone named Derek and have 1 pair of shoes!! (Not sure how you can live in a mansion and only have one pair of shoes, unless, of course, you've spent ALL of your money on the house, or are a live-in and don't actually OWN the house!) Of course, as a mother, I was curious as to who exactly was this Derek guy! She didn't think this was as funny as I thought it to be, but hey, we're entitled to our fun too! She kept asking, "Mom! Why do you keep giggling about that?"
My daughter, aged 5, always wants to play with the older girls in the neighborhood. My daughter and the neighbor, aged 10, played this game one afternoon and they both enjoyed it. The game was better grasped and more appreciated by the 10 year old, who is already daydreaming about boys and her wedding day and that type of thing.
This is a cute game, though I would suggest an appropriate age group for it to be 8 - 12 years.
