What It’s About:
"That's So Raven: Makeover Madness" is comprised of four half-hour programs centering around Raven’s belief that she can see into the future. Of course, her visions tend to get her into more trouble than not. She thinks she has found a dream job working for a seemingly glamorous woman and slowly comes to realize that the job isn’t so dreamy. Along the way, she tries to use her visions to help makeover herself and her friends. Hijinks and hilarity ensue.

There are some cute bonus features on the DVD, including an episode not previously aired and a trivia game. For young ladies-to-be, "That's So Raven: Makeover Madness" is very cute and has good messages.

What Parents Need to Know:
Parents probably will remember Raven Symone as the young Huxtable granddaughter on “The Cosby Show.” She's all grown up and now stars on her own show, “That’s So Raven” on The Disney Channel. What I like about her is that she is a good role model for young girls. She is secure in her own skin and her shows focus on realistic situations for young girls. “That’s So Raven” is a cute sitcom geared toward pre-pubescent girls, and the new DVD, “That’s So Raven: Raven’s Makeover Madness” falls right in line with the rest of Raven’s programs.

The Bottom Line:
If your daughter likes Raven, then she will love this DVD. It’s nearly two hours long, has cute stories that provide a few giggles and some nicely told lessons about being yourself.

The Scoop:
It takes a parent with a lot of patience to sit through two hours of Raven, but my almost nine-year-old daughter loves this DVD. You can’t help but like Raven, who is so unassuming and “real” compared to a lot of television stars. She knows her audience and gears her programs and characters toward what young girls both want and need to know. The best word to describe this DVD is “cute.” It’s very cute, and it’s very enjoyable for the 7 to 14 set.
