Our Amazing Bridges Construction Kit

It comes with almost everything your child will need to build three completely different types of bridges: arch, suspension and truss. Household items you will need to provide include: transparent tape, disposable drinking cups, plastic spoons, 2 measuring cups, and some toothpicks. The bases for your bridges to sit on are included in the kit. The instruction manual is very precise and informative -- there are 24 pages of information on types of bridges, the materials they're made of and how a bridge design is chosen for a specific site. There is even a "Bridge Biographies & Histories" section at the end of the manual.
My 8 year old daughter constructed the 3 bridges with a little help (okay, a lot of help) from her two cousins (aged 10 and 13). They especially liked working with the plaster and paints. I was just glad they did their 'constructing' over at my nieces' house instead of ours! All in all, their bridges looked quite impressive and they had tons of fun building them. They also learned a lot about bridge building along the way, which is always a bonus. To tell you the truth, I learned quite a bit about bridges too! This is a fun, educational construction kit that kids will love. Although this kit is recommended for ages 8 and up, I think most 8 year olds would need a little help from an older child or parent.
