The object of the Shrek 2 game is to get inside the Grand Castle and defeat the Fairy Godmother in a battle of the dice. Players spin a spinner to move along a path to the castle. Along the way, there are many perils, of course, including battles with angry villagers, corrupt cops, and royal knights.

These, along with other activities such as doing impersonations of characters from the movie, are all outlined on "event cards" that players draw during their journey through the kingdom. There are also "help cards" that aid players in their quest. The winner is the first to make it to the castle and roll three different characters on the dice.

While there are many visual clues, players should be able to read the directions on the cards to play the game to its fullest potential. The age guideline on the box says "ages 6 and up," but even a second grader could have trouble reading some of the vocabulary.

I read the cards to my seven-year-old, and she still had a blast playing.

All in all a great game!
