Swap Card Game

by Lori Plach

To get rid of all of your cards may sound easy but it is challenging and a whole lot of fun. You find yourself with just one card, you're sure to win. Wrong! Someone has played a Swap card and your hand becomes theirs. This game is a variation of Uno with its colour and card matching. Yet it also has Slap cards which is a reminder of Slapjack, you have to race to slap the discard pile because if you are the last to slap you must pick a card from the person who played the Slap card. Playing a Super Swap card makes everyone exchange hands.

This game is so much fun, you will find yourself becoming addicted to playing Swap. There really is not much strategy involved since you really don't know what is in anybody's hand. Shaking your head and saying "how you going to know?" is all in the fun of it. Get ready for fast paced excitement with these cards.

Tips

A few practice rounds will definitely help in learning what each card means. In no time at all, you will find yourself remembering. Children under age 7 will have more difficulty in trying to keep up with this game.

Pros

With a range of 2-10 players there are various opportunities to get into a game. This would make a great party game as well as a game for less players. High flying excitement and fast moving hands make this game spectacular.

Cons

If you get all nervous or have to win every time, this is one game you won't enjoy. Nerves of steel would be an advantage. If you think that you have to win every game you ever play, this one may not turn out the way you expect, as the cards are played in different order each game and no two games are the same. You may think you have the game "in the bag" then someone lays a card saying Swap or Super Swap.
